Relationships Education Policy Consultation

We are currently reviewing our policy on Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education. In September 2020, the DfE made it compulsory for all schools to teach Relationships and Health Education. The DfE also strongly encourages primary schools to deliver Relationships and Sex Education to help prepare children for their transition to secondary school. At Ide Hill CE School we have been doing this for many years however our policy is now due for renewal we must ensure that we are following the new DfE guidance.

You can read about these changes here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/relationships-sex-and-health-education-guides-for-schools

At our school we are using the leading children’s health and wellbeing charity, Coram Life Education (CLE) to support us in meeting these legal requirements through their SCARF Programme for Relationships, Health and Sex Education.

As part of the review process we are consulting with parents from the 28th May until the 9th June. We are currently seeking parent queries or questions in order to support us in finalising this policy. We ask please that you read the attached policy and send your feedback to us via this Google Form https://forms.gle/7fascLh6JAn4zfmV8

Thank you for your support. Your feedback is very important to us and will be discussed as part of this policy review.
