On Friday 17th November, Oli from West End in Schools came in to teach our KS2 children to tell a story through dance. All the children were highly engaged and enjoyed the workshop.
Through movement and facial expressions, the children learnt to tell the story of the Ramayana. To summarise, the story is about Rama’s and Sita’s exile, Sita’s capture by the evil Ravana and her subsequent rescue by Rama and Hanuman, the monkey king. We were very proud of the children who learnt all the movements quickly and were able to perform the dance to their teachers at the end of the session.
This workshop was free thanks to a generous donation from the PTA and the school.
