This week, the children in Saplings, Elms and Beech were treated to a fantastic evening of fun! The children were invited to back into school for our Sparkle and Shine event where they took part in a number of activities to celebrate light.
They had an amazing time creating glow in the dark jars, toasting marshmallows on an open fire and singing camp fire songs, learning about and making constellations, learning about the significance of diva lights during Diwali, the festival of light and creating their own from salt dough.
The children were enthralled by the whole event and were buzzing with excitement, awe and wonder. One child commented with delight "We are normally in bed asleep at this time!!"
The evening was a roaring success and has provided lots of discussion for children all week. This would not have been possible if it were not for the hard work of Mrs Farrar, who organized the evening, the PTA, who provided the BBQ, hot chocolate, marshmallows and sparklers for the children and the staff team and volunteers who gave up their evenings to help lead activities and support children. Thank you all so much for helping to create such wonderful memories for the children.
