Children's Mental Health Week 2021

This week we celebrated Children’s Mental Health week with a variety of activities to support the theme “express yourself”. In Beech class, the children were invited to wear their favourite clothes to their morning Zoom. They could dress in any way that helped to express themselves, so we had a range of different outfits on show during the session! We had a selection of football kits, gymnastic leotards, a cowboy hat, sparkly skirts, Lego tops and favourite jumpers worn.
Beech children have been looking after their mental health by celebrating their love of life and expressing themselves in a variety of ways. The photos below show the children meditating, dressing up, making a bird feeder, making arrays and even making a forest school tree!
Zach and Max have been faithfully completing Joe Wicks sessions three times a week and this week wanted to join him in dressing up as Emperor Max and Zach the Swimming Superhero. Well done boys –we love your dedication and enthusiasm!
In Hazel class, the children have been considering some of the values that help keep us happy and healthy on the inside and outside. Grace D created a super poster on Safety and Amber created a super poster about caring.
In Elms, the children have been exploring feelings. They then looked at their own faces to create different expressions and wrote some lovely poems. Here are a selection of the children’s poems and their expression pictures
Our after school activities have been enjoyed by the children this week. They loved Mr Taylor’s sessions and Mrs Fletcher and I have really enjoyed seeing the children via Zoom and being able to read them a story. Next week, we are pleased to offer the following sessions, so please join us if you can:
