Elms Class News

Elms have had a busy STEM this week. On Tuesday we enjoyed 2 amazing shows at Sevenoaks School where we discovered lots about the food we eat and also about rockets in space. We spent the afternoon in Knole park where we picnicked, played games and sketched what we could see around us.

On Wednesday in Science we completed our model homes for Max from 'Where the Wild Things are'. The children had to design their houses so they would withstand the strong winds on the island; have a waterproof roof to stop Max getting wet and create windows for him to see out of and some furniture to keep him comfortable. They all managed to stay standing, even when blasted with Mrs Farrar's hairdryer!

On Thursday the children created hand puppets and used a template to cut out their own felt! They used staples to attached the two pieces of felt themselves and then added decorations to personalise them as per their designs. They were very proud of their finished puppets and have asked if we can keep all the resources used so they can continue to make puppets in their SPLAT time.
