Physical Education

At Ide Hill CE School, we are committed to promoting academic excellence through sports, ensuring that all our children have the opportunity to thrive physically and mentally. We believe that sports are not just about physical fitness but are an integral part of developing key life skills such as discipline, communication, teamwork, and a growth mindset. Our aim is for children to develop a love for learning and life, fostering ambition and resilience that will serve them well into adulthood. A strong focus on healthy living is woven throughout our curriculum, preparing our children for a balanced and active lifestyle.

To support this, we provide a minimum of two hours of PE per week, encouraging active participation in a wide range of sports and physical activities. Beyond these dedicated PE sessions, we promote daily physical exercise through learning breaks, sensory circuits, movement breaks, and the introduction of the Daily Mile. This ensures that our children not only meet but exceed the recommended physical activity levels, helping to instil the habit of regular exercise as part of a healthy routine.

Our school has a proud tradition of sporting success, having participated in various local and county-level events and competitions over the years. We are dedicated to continuing this legacy by offering diverse opportunities for all our students, whether through external competitions or interhouse events within the school. Our goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their ability, can experience the joy and benefits of sport and physical activity.
