Snow school!

This morning we saw lots of snow and we were very lucky that it had settled on the ground earlier in the week. The children were very excited and set off to explore how the world had changed around them.

They walked to the Fire circle where they had a short re-cap about our rules and safety expectations. Mrs Harris discussed climbing when there is frozen snow on the trees. The children started to roll large snowballs on their walk to the forest. They even spotted some animal tracks in the snow, which were identified as a fox, rabbit, pheasant and badger. They saw lots more prints in the forest especially where rabbits had been.

In the forest the children continued with their making snow balls, making snow chairs for inside the den and making houses for the animals in the snow. On their return to the school field the children worked together to build snowmen adding the sticks they had brought back from the forest to add as arms. It was a fabulous opportunity for the children to share their experiences and the perfect chance for them to work together to achieve a  shared goal.
