We are a Rights Respecting School
We are working hard at Ide Hill School to create a safe place for children to learn and play. We are keen to create a learning environment where all children's rights are respected, talents are nurtured and children are given the opportunities to flourish.
Rights Champions
A huge welcome to our new Rights Champions Dylan, Tiger Y6 and Alfie, Nia, Alastair and Eloise Y5! These children have been chosen to help promote and support the rights of children, both in, and out of the classroom. They join our existing Y6 Rights Champions George, Livvie and Lola.
World Book Day
In March we celebrated World Book Day with a 'Rights' twist. All children came to school dressed as a character from a book which represented one of the rights of the child.
Class Charter
In each classroom you will find a  Class Charter. These are a collaboration between the children and teaching staff, who have agreed the essential elements for a rights respecting classroom.
Craze of the week!
School Council recently agreed on an idea to help transform break-times. The children decided that they needed more things to do, in order to give them all a 'right to play'. Our Rights Champions, along with the schools council, decided that the first thing we needed to do was fundraise. So, all children came to school last Friday with 'crazy' hair and a donation towards this project!
