Saplings Class

We have put together a few activities to keep your brains working whilst you are at home. You may not be able to come to school, however...

Imaginative play is not cancelled.
Listening to music is not cancelled.
Playing a board game is not cancelled.
Singing is not cancelled.
Drawing is not cancelled.
Sharing is not cancelled.
Reading a story or being read to by an adult is not cancelled.
Writing is not cancelled.
Counting and problem solving is not cancelled.
Being creative is not cancelled!

Just as you do at school, you will learn when you use the environment around you. Don't be bored, be brave and keep learning!

Please spend some time reading and writing your red words. Here they are!
Please spend some time in the garden - look for mini beasts, find and draw signs of spring.

Look at the beautiful view outside of your windows in different rooms. Do the views change? How do they change? Can you spot the differences? Can you write the differences or even draw them?
Remember to count! Can you count things to 20 and play some counting games? e.g take a handful of toys / spoonful of cereal. How many do you think there are? Count them to check.

Remember to have a go at writing your numbers - really work hard at some of the tricky ones like 2,3, 5, 7 and 9.
Be creative! What can you make?

Is it safe to do some baking? This would help with your maths, reading, following instructions and learning by doing?

Can you make a card or write a letter to a member of your family or a friend.
Colouring is a really good mindful activity. Here are some mindful colouring pages to get you started.
It is important to keep reading. You can read anything - books, the back of cereal packets, comics, how about turning the subtitles onto your favourite film and turning the volume down?

Here are some free e-books for you. Just click on this link https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/. These are organised into your book band colours. You must only read the books from the book band that your teacher has put you on.
