Ide Hill Community Shop
The community shop in Ide Hill has now been operating by the village hall for nearly 5 years and has gone from strength to strength.  It includes a post office which is open 7 days per week and a café which has become increasingly popular with villagers, school parents, cyclist and walkers with its beautiful panoramic views. The shop itself stocks a wide range of basic food and household needs as well as a variety of special items including flowers and gifts.  It is particularly popular with Ide Hill School pupils at the end of the school day as it sells a good selection of sweets.  Everything is sold at competitive prices, thanks to the fact that the shop is mainly staffed by over 50 volunteers from the village.
Over the last few years the school has been exceptionally lucky to receive donations from the directors of the village shop. This award is granted to support community projects. At Ide Hill, we were successful in our applications to boost PE equipment for PE lessons, to increase resources that would enable music to be taught more regularly throughout the school and in our application to provide a canopy for our Early Years Foundation Stage outdoor area.
